As part of the San Andreas Sanitary District’s public education and outreach, we hosted a tour of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders from the Elementary School on 10/29/15. There were about 115 kids that toured our Laboratory, the Heavy Equipment, and the Wastewater Plant. The students were led by their teachers Ms Pargett, Ms Mills, Ms Poole, and Mr McCarty and several parent-volunteers.
The kids were invited to participate in a Calendar Art contest that was themed “Water is Life”. 13 kids were recognized at the School Assembly and had their artwork placed in the District’s 2016 calendar. The winning students received a gift certificate for a free pizza, while all the students in 4-6 grade received a 2016 calendar to take home. Our District’s Board of Directors formally recognized the winners at the November 18th Board Meeting with Resolution #2015-11.
